Toymaker: Return of the Lost Toys by Tony Bertauski

Toymaker: Return of the Lost Toys (A Science Fiction Adventure) (Claus Universe Book 9) by Tony Bertauski

All over the world, there was a gift under the tree. Nobody knew where it came from, nobody knew what it did. It was sleek and looked fancy, but it didn’t seem to work. That is, until Avery uttered the words that brought them to life, all at the same time. Then the Hunt had begun. For Avery, that day ushered in the loss of her grandmother, Nana Rai. But for everyone else, the opportunity to find the Toymaker was of utmost importance. Everyone wanted to know where he was. Kids and adults alike turned from their regular lives to follow the clues and seek the Toymaker. Nobody had a clue what exactly they were looking for, but they were darned well going to find it!

This book, like the others in the series, is a well written joyride full of twists and turns that would make any roller coaster ride seem tame by comparison. Grab a seat and prepare to take off! You’ll find characters that look and feel real enough that you half expect them to jump off of the page at times. And the descriptions are out of this world. Colors that taste? You bet! I give this book a resounding 5 and dare you to find a book that grabs your attention quite like it anywhere!

Toymaker is a standalone book, meaning you don’t have to read the other books in the series before reading this book. I have read some, not all, of the books, and I can say with confidence you can easily read this book and understand it fully. However, there are some witty references, Tony calls them Easter Eggs, which have been scattered along the way. It’s kind of fun to be able to recognize when you see one. Just another little perk of being part of the fun for the whole ride, not just the last 5 minutes, if you will. Enjoy the book, then once you find that it was as wild and fun as I told you it would be, go back and start reading the series beginning with:
