I have been using the Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask for the past week, and I can really tell the difference. I was a bit dismayed at first, because I used it and then looked to see if I noticed any difference in my skin. I didn’t really see much difference so I wasn’t very impressed. However, last night when I used it, I noticed that the crow’s feet next to my eyes were quite diminished and more spread out, not cut into the skin like before. Wow, talk about excited!
First things first, Valentia was kind enough to offer me a discounted price in exchange for an unbiased review. That being said, I would have been happy to pay the price this product goes for, as it really is a good product. The jar comes inside a box, so it has some protection from jarring etc. during delivery. When I first opened the jar, the contents looked a little moved around but that is because it is more gel-like and less solid than I expected. The scent is faintly spicy and practically non existent once it has been rinsed and dried, so no problems with my sinuses and no interference with other products or perfumes. It had a cool, tingly feeling when I smoothed it on my face. I covered the whole facial area, then left it on as I went on about my business. After about 15 minutes, the product had dried but didn’t feel tight or uncomfortable. I rinsed it off the first time just putting water on my face with my hands. It made the mask liquify and feel a bit slimy, so the next time I used it I used a wet washcloth to clean the mask off. This worked much better for me. Now the magic is that the gel came off quite easily, leaving my skin feeling soft, supple, and hydrated. But the magical part was when I looked a little closer in the mirror and realized that those pesky crow’s feet on either side of my face had filled in and become almost non existant. That tells me that my skin really has taken in moisture and is in much better shape.
Valentia’s Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask is 100% alcohol and paraben free and it’s made in the U.S.A. It’s available on Amazon at the link below:

My kidlet likes to listen to music while showering or doing her hair. I am not fond of using electronics in the bathroom because of the threat of getting shocked, so I decided to give the Mpow AquaPro Waterproof Speaker a try. Mpow sent me the AquaPro Waterproof Speaker for free to test in exchange for my honest review. I received the speaker and immediately showed it to my kidlet. She loved the look and wanted to try it out right away. The Mpow AquaPro Waterproof Speaker is black and bright green, very colorful and very sturdy. We read the directions included in the little flyer and found that it was a pretty easy task to get started. First, you hold the start button (the circle) for 2 seconds and the speaker will emit an On sound and flash blue on the front. Then, press the play button for 2 seconds and the speaker will emit another tone. Now it’s ready to be connected to your device by Bluetooth. Turn on your device’s Bluetooth and it will search for the speaker. Once it is found, click on the phone screen to connect. That’s it- you are up and running!
I love that the Mpow AquaPro Waterproof Speaker is sturdy, waterproof, and dustproof. In my house, that means it has a good chance of lasting a long time without being damaged by klutzy fingers (hubby) or accidental drops, especially if it’s being used in the bath. I can turn on the music before showering or bathing, then if I don’t want to hear the song that’s playing, the speaker has a + button to advance the song forward or a – button to go back one song. Press and hold for a couple of seconds to do these tasks or short press the same buttons for volume control. There’s also an SOS button to signal for help. I pressed that one and it will definitely get someone’s attention. Now for the particulars: the Mpow AquaPro Waterproof Speaker will work in up to 3 feet of water. It has a charging slot and a jack for earphones, which have a silicone cover to protect the speaker from water damage when not in use. The speaker can be used with any Bluetooth device and you can even use the speaker to answer the phone, using the same buttons for volume and to change from music to call and back again. The speaker works for 6 to 8 hours before needing to be charged. It had clear, high definition sound, even when cranked up. If you want a great little speaker that delivers big sounds, consider the Mpow AquaPro Waterproof Speaker.
Not only is the Mpow AquaPro Waterproof Speaker a great buy, but for a limited time you can get one with an extra 10% off just for visiting my blog. Feel free to use and share this code with friends. It’s okay, I got the okay from Mpow 🙂

I love my new smart phone a lot. I never realized how many things you can do on a smart phone. But along with all of those features comes a battery that needs charging A LOT! It seems like we’re always fighting for the charger or everyone goes to the same corner of the room to hook up to the charging port. So I was more than happy to get the BESTEK 6-Outlet Surge Protector at a reduced price in exchange for a fair review. I love that they packed it so securely, a box in a bag in a box, to keep it safe while during transit. The BESTEK 6-Outlet Surge Protector comes with an extra lengthy 6.6 foot cord so it goes farther than most surge protectors go, making it more accessible for us to use. It has 6– 3 prong surge protected outlets to plug in your devices and feel safe knowing that they are safe. Bestek offers a Lifetime Warranty AND a $5,000,000 Connected Equipment Warranty in case something happens to your device as a result of using the surge protector. That makes me feel like they are taking care of their customers and supplying a good product.
At one end is a lighted power switch and at the other end are 3 smart USB charging ports for up to 2.4 amps per port, plus one quick charge port that is supposed to charge devices up to 75% faster. Finally, the BESTEK 6-Outlet Surge Protector has an integrated 15 amp circuit breaker and built in overheat, overload, or over charging protection against short circuits. That’s a whole lot of protection! I think Bestek’s 6-Outlet Surge Protector is well thought out and well made- surely a good surge protector for my electronics. The only thing I noticed is that there isn’t a lot of space in between the outlets, so I have to squeeze a couple of the bulky cords to fit. I wish that wasn’t an issue but so many devices have the large box-type plugs that it would be nice to add a little extra room- maybe between a couple of the plugs.
The BESTEK 6-Outlet Surge Protector was provided at a reduced price for the purpose of review. All opinions are my own and do not reflect the opinion of Bestek or any other source.

I catapulted myself into the 21st century a couple of weeks ago and got a smart phone. While I love the convenience that a smart phone gives me, the days of a phone charge lasting me a week are now over. I can see why everytime my daughter comes over she has to charge her dying phone. I can’t see having a tool that doesn’t work and I am too much on the go to be tethered to a charging cord at home, so I started investigating options for my car. I found the perfect solution: the BESTEK MRS156, 3-Socket Cigarette Lighter adapter. Bestek even offered an adapter at a reduced price if I would try it out and then give an unbiased review.
The BESTEK MRS156, 3-Socket Cigarette Lighter Adapter comes safely packed in multiple layers to provide the best possible chance for a damage-free product. My adapter was a beautiful glossy red, and there is black available as well. The adapter packs 150 watts so that I can charge multiple devices at the same time. It also has 2 USB ports that are able to charge at the optimal charging current automatically. 2 DC outlets are provided so that coolers, car vacuums, air pumps, etc. can be operated as well. There’s supposed to be a 15a replaceable fuse, but I didn’t see how to access it. Smart technology will shut down the charging cycle if there’s a chance your product is going to overheat or overcharge. The cord is 26 inches long, which extends well into the back seat for passenger use.
All in all, I find that the BESTEK MRS156, 3-Socket Cigarette Lighter adapter offers everything I need at a great price point.
Opinions are my own and not reflective of Bestek or any other source.

The Golden Braid by Melanie Dickerson
What a delightful novel! I wondered when I read the title if this was actually the story of Rapunzel. I was more than pleased when I dug into the book that it was indeed Rapunzel but told with a fresh perspective. Rapunzel was a maiden who lived with her mother. In the beginning of the book, Rapunzel and her mother are travelling to a town her mother had once lived in. Rapunzel ponders many of the things her mother has taught her, and why she isn’t to befriend anyone. Her hair is always to be covered and her clothing useful but ugly. Nothing to draw any attention to her is to be used or worn. Even speaking to someone of the opposite sex has sent them seeking a new place to live. Mother is intent on keeping Rapunzel with her forever.
On the road, Mother and Rapunzel are waylaid by robbers when Sir Gerek happens by and rescues them. When Sir Gerek is injured, Rapunzel and her mother are forced to help the knight back to a monastery outside of Hagenheim to be healed. Hagenheim is their destination as well, so they deliver the knight to the monastery and they are on their way. Mother is quite suspicious of the knight and thinks that they will not cross paths again, but Rapunzel decides to ask the monastery to help her learn to read in exchange for doing housework. In a twist of fate, the father decides to have Sir Gerek teach Rapunzel, as he has nothing to do until he is healed enough to ride home.
There were so many great plot twists and turns that this story was hard to put down. Although this story did have references to God, it was not preachy in the least. I want to read more from this author.
I was sent this promotional book for free from a book guild for the purpose of review. All opinions are my own and do not reflect the opinions of Ms. Dickerson or anyone but myself.
I have had the opportunity to attend the Women of Faith Conferences many times over the years and they have always gone beyond my expectations in finding new ways to celebrate my relationship with Jesus and to grow in faith.
The events surrounding 9/11 were far reaching and one of those events was the Women of Faith Conference in Seattle, WA. Plans were quickly made to shift the dates to December so that everyone would be able to travel to attend the conference. I was one of so many that were devastated by 9/11 and needed to refocus on my walk with Jesus, so that I could learn to deal with the heartache and fear that followed. When I went to the Women of Faith Conference, I felt the sense of coming home. The music, the speakers, it was as if all had been orchestrated to speak to me personally. I found myself healing and the part of me that felt broken was being renewed. I knew that I could find my trust in other people by relying on God to keep me from harm. I learned that I could let my fears and concerns go and trust that God would take them and turn them into something baeutiful. I began a new, more meaningful relationship with Him as a result of each Conference I went to.
Its been 20 years now, and the Women of Faith participants have changed, some leaving and others coming in. But each Conference is filled with stories of heartache and hope, of tragedies and triumphs, of doubts and deliverances. Today I stand taller knowing that God is beside me every step I take. And now, Women of Faith has taken a turn as well. Here’s a peek into their new endeavor:
