Ozeri BP5K Digital Blood Pressure Monitor

My husband has been dealing with cancer and its after effects for almost 5 years now. One thing he does on a daily basis is to take his blood pressure. He has to take meds to control it and the way they work, one med keeps the blood pressure up while the other med keeps the heart rate down. He can tell if his numbers are off at all and he keeps track of his numbers in case he has to let the doctor know of a situation. We’ve used a regular cuff Blood pressure monitor for a number of years but I used a wrist style monitor at the doctor’s office and decided we should give that a try. I got the Ozeri BP5K Digital Blood Pressure Monitor with Voice-Guided Positioning and Hypertension Indicator. It comes with a hard case to keep it in and a small booklet with directions for usage.

The wrist cuff is easy to slip on any wrist and the monitor is voice guided, so it tells you what is going on. For instance, when you turn it on, it lets you know when to move your arm and what position to put it in. If it isn’t placed right you are notified and asked to reposition it. This takes a bit of patience and learning to get this down correctly. If you don’t position your arm correctly you won’t get a good reading. The voice portion is clear and loud and is accompanied by large, backlit numerical readings. It gives you enough time to read the numbers before going dark. It also stores the numbers, which is handy for reporting to your doctor. It can tell you if you have dangerous levels that could indicate hypertension or arrhythmia.

The Ozeri BP5K Digital Blood Pressure Monitor  takes some practice to get accurate readings so I would not suggest depending on it solely until you are quite comfortable with it. Other than that, it’s a very well made and nice  looking unit with great visibility, which I really liked!
