No Ordinary Shepherd DVD Review and Giveaway

,Shepherd 2

I received the dvd No Ordinary Shepherd for free from Family Christian for the purpose of review. No Ordinary Shepherd is a story about a young crippled boy who lives with his mother. He was in an accident with his father a few years before. The accident left his father dead and the boy crippled. He is ostrasized by the other villagers as useless and he feels like he is a burden to his mom. He spends most of his time in the fields shepherding other people’s sheep. He has a lot of time to reflect on his memories and regret not being able to support his mother better.

One night, as he is in a nearby cave preparing to eat his dinner, he is visited by a stranger. He invites the stranger to join him for dinner, warning that it is not much. As they eat and visit, he at first hides the special cake his mother made him. But as he talks about his father and how his father shared the experience of being a shepherd that was invited to witness the birth of Christ, he decides to share fully in all he has. Then he admits that he had hidden his cake at first and apologizes to the stranger. The stranger reaches out to touch him and the boy is healed. He then realizes that he is in the presence of Jesus Christ. What joy he feels to know Christ and be healed! This dvd, although short, packs a huge, meaningful punch! Just the idea of being in the physical presence of Christ is more than he could imagine, much less to be healed. But as he believes, he is given the healing he wants to experience and nothing will ever be the same again.
